Gucci continues its partnership with UNICEF this season which will benefit UNICEF programs that aid children in Africa. It appears that companies have really fueled the awareness for the poorest of the poor recently. I still remember the Gucci Tattoo Heart last year for the program.

For the 2009 Gucci Campaign to Benefit UNICEF, Frida Giannini has commissioned author Michael Roberts to create a sequel to his popular children’s book, Snowman in Paradise, which was published in 2004. The new book, titled Snowman in Africa, will be exclusively on sale in Gucci stores and on Gucci.com from November 16 through December 31, 2009. Gucci will donate 100% of the retail price of the book to UNICEF.

Giannini has also designed exclusive Gucci accessories as well as a Gucci Gift Card to benefit UNICEF, all of which are inspired by Michael Roberts’ magical illustrations featured in the book. Two new medium sized Gucci Joy handbags feature Roberts’ illustrations. Symbolic charms representing characters from the book act as key rings or add-on charms to any accessory. The collection also features small leather goods, including a wrist wallet and coin purse. The Gucci Joy handbags and fashion accessories will be available in Gucci stores from November 16 to December 31, 2009, and 25% of the retail price of each item will be donated to UNICEF.

We all love Marilyn Monroe. Her blond hair, clear eyes and bright red lips greatly impressed people all over the world, living the eternal flawless look for us. While, I have never expected that she would be on my dress. For the upcoming Fall/Winter season, Dolce & Gabbana really obsessed with Marilyn Monroe for their Fall/Winter 09 collection. Its black and white full-skirt dress is adorned with Marilyn Monroe’s likeness. I’m sure it will lead a new trend in fashion industry and be favored by more and more celebrities, just like the effect of Louis Vuitton handbags and Gucci handbags.

The dress features oversized black and White Marilyn Monroe print on the front, feminine and sexy. We’re still not sure we’d want to wear someone else’s face on our bodies, but this is definitely different, and we’re loving the shape of the skirt.

Molly Sims firstly wore Dolce & Gabbana’s Marilyn Monroe dress to the 2009 CFDA Awards. Though some fashion critics still consider that it is hard to sell such a luxurious item, especially in the period of ecomonic downturn, it’s specially necessary to add one or more fabulous and timeless clothes like it to our wardrobe. Maybe currently, we’d better hold the selective attitude instead of depression.
